What is LiveXR™?
LiveXR™ is AVRIS’s synchronous immersive learning platform, designed for live, instructor-led simulations in virtual reality. It enables learners to step into realistic, high-quality case scenarios, interact with the experience in real time, and participate as part of a guided group session. For instructors, LiveXR™ provides session control, structured facilitation, and learning analytics, making it a powerful tool for experiential management and leadership education.
⠀
What added values can LiveXR™ immersive cases bring to my teaching?
Teaching with immersive cases allows you to place students face to face with real life situations. It gives them the opportunity to practice difficult decision making, to analyze their behavior and learn from it and to make mistakes in a safe and controllable learning environment. Instead of talking about a case they had to read for hours, they can experience it first hand. Studies about VR and learning show that experiential learning is more memorable and promotes higher levels of empathy. These advantages are key to effective learning, promoting personal development.
⠀
In what way do I have to change my current methods to adapt to immersive teaching with LiveXR™?
Your methods don’t have to change. VR is an enabler, allowing you to teach theory through practice. Each VR experience produced by INSEAD Immersive Learning is equipped with full teaching notes and information you can use to embed the cases within your classes, and the INSEAD VR team is at your disposal in order to advise on amphi setup and provide support before, during and after the class.
⠀
Can I use LiveXR™ Immersive cases when teaching on-line sessions? What about hybrid sessions?
VR enables immersive teaching in any format - on campus session, remote sessions where everyone is online, and any mix between these. The only requirement is that the learner has a device and a basic wifi connection. The devices are controlled via a web based dashboard, which provides real-time control over the contents displayed.
⠀
How far in advance should I schedule a LiveXR™ session?
We strongly recommend professors schedule their sessions at least two weeks in advance. This ensures organizational administrators have a minimum of 10 days to allocate headsets and download necessary content.
⠀
Can I create a practice session without a charge to our organization's credits?
Yes! By toggling "I Just Want to Practice" during scheduling, you can run a dry run without consuming organizational credits. However, practice sessions are limited to a maximum of 3 assigned headsets.
⠀
Are learner choices and answers during a LiveXR™ session recorded for me to use later?
Yes, learner answers populate in the "Questions Results" section of the live interface. Note that all data collected is 100% anonymous to ensure privacy. The data can be exported as a CSV file for research purposes.
⠀
If I assign a device to a specific session, does the experience stay on the headset permanently?
No, experiences tied to a scheduled session are automatically deleted 24 hours after the class ends to save space. To keep content on a device permanently, an Org Admin must assign it directly through the Devices tab.
⠀
What should I do if a headset status says "Requires Action"?
This status means the headset hasn't been online in a long time (e.g., over a year). You should physically power it on, connect it to Wi-Fi, and plug it in. Note that it may take up to 24 hours for it to reestablish communication with the Session Hub.
