This guide will go through running a LiveXR session to your class.
Note that this is the final step, after Scheduling a session and device assignment.
Opening the session
On your main Dashboard tab in the sessions hub, you will see your session, with the status marked as "Ready" in the "Upcoming sessions" column on the left side. Click on the "Open" button to enter the session
Tip: you can click the "Playbook" button on the opposite side to gain more information on running the particular experience you have scheduled.
Once on the first session screen, you will see the button to officially launch the session.
Session Page Overview
Here is an overview on what you can find on the session page:
-
Segments Bar: Most experiences are divided to several segments. On the left side, you will find the Segments Bar, which allows you to switch between the different segments. Above the segments you will also find the Tutorial Clip, which you can play for your learners to help with first-time use of the VR devices. Below the segments you will find the button to close the session.
-
Segment Control Panel: On the top-middle of the page, you can see the segment name, as well as the play button to start the segment, and the stop button to end it.
-
Learners Bar: On the right side, you will find the Learners Bar, which displays the devices currently assigned to the session and their status. The statuses of the devices are color-coded:
- Green: The device is online and on the learner's head, meaning they are currently actively participating.
- Orange: The device is online and has been on the learner's head recently, but was taken off the learner's head.
- Orange (Greyed out): The device is not online and hasn't been used in the session yet, or hasn't participated for some time. Learners with this status might need assistence using their device.
-
Segment Timeline: Under the Segment Control Panel, you will see a bar which shows the progress of the class in the segment. As the segment is playing, the bar will fill. Orange indicates the farthest point any student (at least one) has reached, while green indicates the point all participants have reached.
-
Question Results and Behavior Section: Visible below the segment timeline, the Question Results section will show the answers learners provide in response to interactive portions of the segment (if available).
Some segments also feature a Heatmap, allowing you to watch a segment's video and see the learners' areas of focus. Click the "Behavior" tab and then on the name of the video to watch the heatmaps.
On the right side of the Question Results section, you will see two buttons, one to copy the question results, allowing you to paste in a powerpoint silde, etc., and the other to export a CSV file with detailed information about question results. -
Additional Controls: On the very top-right side, you will see two buttons that give you additional options while running the session. The left button allows you to write an announcement which will be broadcast to all learners currently interacting with the experience on their VR devices, and the right button puts the learners into Self-paced Mode, allowing them to explore the experience and switch between segments freely.
