After learning the basics and testing a session with Preview mode, you are ready to begin a live session.
1. Launching a Live Session
When you wish to begin class, click the Launch button next to the Preview icon.
Onboarding Learners
- Share Access: The first screen displays a QR code and a 4-digit session code. Instruct learners to scan the QR code to log in. (Tip: Click on the QR code to enlarge it for the classroom).
- Monitor Connections: Look at the top right corner of your screen to see the real-time count of connected learners.
- Manage Your Screen: If you need to access other browser tabs or applications during the session, click the Full-Screen Toggle button at the top right to exit full-screen mode.
Tip - Control Attention: When you move to a new step, learners' devices may display an "Idle Screen." This is by design, directing their attention back to you or the main presentation (such as a video component) until they are required to interact.
2. Facilitating Interactive Activities
LearnAI features many different "blocks" with different functions:
Video
A video is presented on screen. By default, the video is only presented on the Educator screen, but some videos will be presented on the Learner screen as well. Videos are further subdivided into two types:
- A simple, non-interactive video
- An interactive video, which offers interactions such as choosing paths, hotspots to gain more information, etc.
Image Carousel
An image carousel is presented on the Educator screen. If there is more than one image in a particular step, the images can be scrolled through using the arrow keys on either side of the image.
Interactive Questions
Questions are displayed on the Learner screens for the learners to answer.
Questions are devided into several types, including polling, knowledge checks, and Likert scale.
While the questions are displayed on the Learner screens, the Educator screen will display information on the number of learners who have answered each question. You can click the "Show Results" button on the bottom left side to switch to the results screen.
AI Persona Conversations
Learners will interact with AI personas based on the case study.
The first step is usually a Demo block where you can show the class how to chat with the bot.
The personas come in three modalities: Text, Voice, and Video. By design, not all personas are available in all three modalities.
Time Limit: Conversations are timed. However, if you need to bring the class back together early, click the "End Conversations" button to immediately stop the learner conversations.

AI Feedback
After conversing with the persona, learners will chat with an AI Feedback bot to gain insights into their performance (e.g., the depth and quality of their questions). Like conversations, this block is timed, but you can cut it short at any time by clicking the "End Feedback" button.
